Visitor Visa is a type of temporary resident visa, usually granted with 6 months duration.
If the visitor wants to extend his/her stay in Canada, an application for extension must
be submitted 30 days prior to the expiration date, to ensure a legal status staying in
Canada. As long as the application for extension is submitted before the expiration date,
applicants will still be considered staying in Canada legally, regardless of the application processing time.

Visitor Visa

There are over 5 million visitors travelling to Canada every year, including tourists, students, temporary workers etc., taking pleasure in Canada's environments and the opportunities available in Canada. For all visitors from Visa-exempt countries staying over 180 days, or visitors from visa-requird countries, both types of visitors are required to apply for visitor visas from Canada's overseas Visa offices.

Visitor Visa, also known as temporary resident visa, can be single- or multiple entries; these visas are only valid within a specific period of time, and are no longer valid after the expiration date stated.

Canada's Immigration Law allows all Citizens, Permanent Residents, Students or Workers, to invite their parents, relatives or friends to visit Canada. There are no net worth requirements for visitor visas, however, if adequate proof of funds are provided, this may increase the likelihood of visa applications being successful.
